In the event you need to refer your patients for psychiatric assessment you can confident that HawkinsPsychiatry will provide quality and comprehensive care. Dr. Hawkins treats individuals 16 and older. Dr. Hawkins will follow your patient closely and usually has new patients schedule a follow up within 1-2 weeks to assess medication tolerability and efficacy. His patients seem to like the quick follow up. Instead of waiting a month or more for follow up, possibly dealing with undesirable side effects and a medication that may be ineffective. New patients are generally seen within 7 days of their initial phone call.
Dr Hawkins encourages coordination of care. New patients are asked to sign a release of information to their PCP, specialty physicians and any treating counselors. Most of his patients are offered some level of counseling and psychotherapy. Our practice has on-site therapists and support clinicians who can provide much needed services while providing ease in communication between Dr Hawkins and other referred clinicians or therapists.
